This does not build trust in the global anti-doping system, which has seen its credibility suffer so much after the Russian doping scandal and the incredible back-and-forth that followed. The goal was to punish the system of state-run doping, not individual athletes. We cannot understand why such significant concessions were made with today&#8217;s decision. It is now necessary to quickly analyse exactly why it could have come so far. The legal framework of the anti-doping system and the system of international sport arbitration must be effective and waterproof so that state-run doping can be punished rigorously.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Berlin, December 17, 2020.
